December 25 (ChainDD) At 2018 Shanghai Finance Forum, Bengt Holmstrom, a professor of economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technologies (MIT) and winner of the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences in 2016, commented on fintech topics including blockchain and big data.

According to Phoenix Finance, cited Homstrom’s remarks, it is blockchain that “could solve the biggest problem in human’s history: Trust.” And since it is a medium of storage evidence and open to everyone, it has the chance to completely change the operation way of financial institutions. But Homstrom showed his skepticism on Bitcoin and doesn’t think Bitcoin can replace fiat currencies.
